Embrace Persia

The historical and Biblical significance of Iran (formerly Persia) cannot be understated. Iran’s storyline is woven throughout the Old and New Testaments.

Iran is the land of the Persian kings Cyrus, Darius and Xerxes. Daniel, Esther and Nehemiah lived in Iran. The first people groups (Parthians, Medes and Elamites) to respond to the Gospel on the day of Pentecost were from modern day Iran.

Invite Partners

Iran Alive Ministries recognizes the work in Iran is too vast and the opportunity too great for one organization to do it all. Iran Alive believes in partnerships and seeks out like-minded groups to transform Iran including The Voice of the Martyrs, International Leadership Institute, John Maxwell’s EQUIP and Open Doors.

Plant Churches

During the 1980s, Dr. Shariat began what is now an international ministry in his California living room. Dr. Shariat’s heart turned toward other Muslims (especially those from his homeland, Iran), and he asked himself the question that launched Iran Alive Ministries: “Can one person change Iran?”

God drew others to the work, and the number of Muslim-converts grew. By 2000, Dr. Shariat had planted six churches in California that have grown into one of the largest Muslim-background believers church groups in the United States.

Dr. Shariat understands the essential role house churches play in evangelism, discipleship and development of leaders. The first Iranian house church started in 2003, and the network of underground churches inside Iran now numbers in the hundreds in dozens of cities – with more added every month.

Expand Vision

Sept. 11, 2001 – or 9/11 – was the date the world woke up to Islam. Everything changed. Islam could no longer be ignored. That single event launched Iran Alive Ministries. Suddenly, reaching Muslims inside Iran became more than a “good idea” – it became the highest priority!

This urgency pulses through every Ministry Program of Iran Alive Ministries today. Iran Alive believes Iran can be reached for Jesus within one generation. And once Iran believes, the Middle East and all of Islam will follow.

Iran Alive Ministries has a comprehensive and proven strategy to transform Iran. Multi-faceted Ministry Programs are designed to cohesively work together with the major emphasis of planting and multiplying churches.

Every effort focuses on viral evangelism, obedience-based discipleship and practical leadership development. These integrate together for massive transformation in the lives of Iranians.
